Vocal Scores for Operas and Musicals

Vocal Scores for operas and musical: Uniform Title

The uniform title is almost always in a 240. It consists primarily of the distinctive title of the work, the phrase "Vocal score", and the additional term, "Selections." Use "Selections" when the the score states that it consists of highlights, selections, etc. This is very common, since the overture and instrumental music may not be included, only the vocal selections.

An example of a complete vocal score is Bib 345550 (OCLC #15602964).

The 240 looks like this: 240 10 ‡a Follies. ‡s Vocal score
