RefWorks

Exporting from Databases

When you are in a Ebsco database/Library One Search viewing the results page, click on the 3 vertical dots menu to the right, a new menu appears, select Cite.

If you are viewing an article record in Ebsco or Library One Search, find the quotation marks to the right.

Then choose Direct Export to RefWorks and click Save.

Underneath the article, find the link that has " Cite.

A page will pop up containing popular citation styles, find the Refworks link on the bottom right.

Alternatively you can add the Import button to your Google Scholar page

 

  1. Go to http://scholar.google.com (if you are off campus you will be asked to log into my.access)
  2. Click the three lines to launch the menu.
  3. Then, navigate to Settings.
  4. Under Bibliography Manager, click Show links to import citations, and choose RefWorks from the drop list.
  5. Click Save Preferences
  6. You will now see the Import to Refworks option in your Google Scholar search results.

On the JSTOR results page, find the menu to the right (Download, Save, Cite). Select Cite.

A page will pop up containing popular citation styles, beneath that you will find a link to Export to Refworks.

The citation is not viewable from the results page, click on the Article title.

Then select the "C button at the top, towards the left.

The page expands to show links.  Click on the link to Refworks

Select the " button above the article.

The page that pops up does not contain a link to Refworks. Download the BiBtext citation. Find BibTex in the top pulldown box, at the bottom right, click the download arrow.

Login to Refworks

In the top menu, click Add+

Then import your reference by selecting or dragging and dropping

Refworks may not immediately recognize the file. Search for BibTex and click Import

Refworks identified ACM for this citation as pictured below, Click Import.

Click Import again on the Refworks page.

Your citation will be imported.

A page pops up, the link to Refworks in between a citation example and various ways to save the citation.

A page pops up with citation options, search for Refworks in the pull down menu, then click Export.

Find the cite button to the upper right of the article.

A page pops up - Select .ris (or click Refworks)

 

Login to Refworks

In the top menu, click Add+

When importing, it identifies the file as RIS but needs the user to search for type (Oxford Music).
