The LGBTQ+ Safe Spaces National Needs Assessment is a first-of-its-kind survey initiative to measure the breadth and depth of anti-LGBTQ+ hate violence against LGBTQ+ businesses, organizations, and groups nationwide. The report includes responses from 380 LGBTQ+ businesses, organizations, and groups nationwide.
AVP empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.
Founded in 1995, the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP) is the only national coalition dedicated to reducing violence and its impacts on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected (LGBTQH) communities in the United States. We produce two annual national reports on LGBTQ Hate Violence and LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence, the only national reports of their kind.
We use these reports to document and raise awareness of the prevalence of this violence, advocate for policy and funding changes that will increase resources to address LGBTQ violence, and recommend strategies to prevent, respond to, and end this violence.
