For the last Talbott blog, we covered Naxos Music Library, which is a streaming audio library. This time, we want to show you a few databases that stream video!

Medici.tv is a streaming service that provides access to music events like classical concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, and master classes. They are partnered with prestigious venues and organizations like the Berliner Philharmoniker, Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic, and many more. The New York Times calls Medici.tv “the closest thing to a classical Netflix.” They even offer live events - around 100 a year! - on their calendar, so be sure to check it out!

Met Opera on Demand is another great streaming service we subscribe to. Like the name suggests, this database holds performances by the Metropolitan Opera. There are currently over 800 full-length audio and video performances by the Met Opera available on the website! In addition to more modern performances, Met Opera on Demand includes historic radio broadcasts dating back to 1935 and opera telecasts from the 1970s-1990s.
If you have any questions about how to access either of these databases, please reach out to us at Talbott Music Library.
