Online Student Support

Start Here!

Even though you might not be physically on campus, you still have access to the Libraries' resources–books, databases, journal articles, and librarians. Make sure you read the special privileges for online-only students listed below. You will find links on this page that will provide access to the services and materials you need to succeed in your courses.

This guide details the many types of materials available in the Library's collection. Rider University librarians selected subject-specific databases, Web sites, books, and other sources to help students and faculty with their research topics and questions.

Our goal is to provide off-campus students with equitable resources and research help as those students on-campus

  • Consultations with librarians via phone and internet.
  • Virtual reference services: email, chat and text.
  • Full access to libraries' electronic course reserves.
  • Course-specific multimedia research guides developed at the request of faculty.
  • Remote access to Rider Libraries' collection of electronic journals, full text journal articles, and e-books

For Distance Learners: Students taking only online courses, unable to come to the library - you have extra privileges:

  • Delivery of library books owned by Rider University via UPS/USPS (after consultation with a reference librarian)
  • Electronic delivery of library materials (i.e. journal articles, book chapters).
