Introduction to Gen AI

A Prompt is a text input or instruction given to an AI model (like GPT) to guide its response or behavior. It's essentially a way of communicating with the AI to elicit a specific kind of output.
Prompt Engineering is a specialized field focused on designing, crafting, and optimizing prompts to elicit the best possible responses from AI models. 
LLMs are very sensitive to how questions are asked. The way we phrase a question can change the answer. LLMs can be influenced by explanations & additional info.  (Anagnostidis  & Bulian 2024).

Prompting Technniques

Technique: Be Specific

Prompt: Create a business plan for a startup
Improved: Create a detailed 5-year business plan for a tech startup focusing on AI-powered healthcare solutions. Include sections on market analysis, financial projections, and go-to-market strategy

Technique: Break it down
Prompt: Write a marketing strategy for my small bakery.
Improved: Help me develop a bakery marketing strategy by addressing: Target Market Analysis, Brand Positioning, Marketing Channels, and 
Implementation Plan. Provide specific, actionable recommendations for each section.
 

Technique: Role (or Persona)  I'm a college student with a cool idea for a tech startup. You're my wise uncle who's been in the business world for years. You love new tech and innovative business ideas, but you're also big on doing things the right way.

Technique: Scenario Now, imagine we're having coffee and I'm telling you about my startup plans. I mention I'll be using AI tools to help me out. What advice would you give me?

Technique: Avoid Bias

Biased: Why is capitalism the best economic system? 
Unbiased:  Compare and contrast different economic systems.

Problematic: Prove that studying less is better than studying a lot
Better: Compare different study strategies and their effectiveness for learning retention

Prompt: Describe the ideal CEO for a successful startup
improved: Describe the key leadership qualities and skills required for a startup CEO, considering diverse backgrounds and experiences. Focus on traits that contribute to business success regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or educational background.

Technique: Add Rules
Generate 5 innovative startup ideas in the sustainable energy sector.
For each idea, provide:
A brief description of the product or service

1. The primary target market

2. Potential challenges and how to overcome them
