English Language History and Linguistics

American Speech is concerned principally with the English language in the Western Hemisphere, although articles dealing with English in other parts of the world, the influence of other languages by or on English, and linguistic theory are also published. Since its founding in 1925, American Speech has been one of the foremost publications in its field. Regular features include a book review section and a "Miscellany" section devoted to brief essays and notes.

The Moore Library holds only v.2 (1968)-v.15 (1981) of this title and does not have full text access through databases.

Language publishes scholarly articles that report on original research covering the field of linguistics broadly, thus treating topics that include, among others, linguistic theory (phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics); language description; language in its social setting; the history of individual languages; language acquisition; experimentation on language perception, production, and processing; computational modeling of language; and the history of linguistics.

World Englishes is an international journal committed to theoretical research on methodological and empirical study of English in global, social, cultural and linguistic contexts.
